Meet the Governors

The Governors at Stutton Church of England Primary are committed to ensuring that all pupils receive the best education in a rich learning environment. The Governing Body are appointed by ASSET trustees and meet twice every term. They also visit the school to speak to staff and pupils. The minutes of their meetings are available for the public to read in the School Office. 

A message from our chair.

Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you well. After our recent governors’ meeting, we realized it has been a while since we last wrote to you about the governors and their role..

As part of the Asset Education Trust, Stutton’s Local Governing Body (LGB) shares the Trust’s ambition to achieve improvement and excellence for all our children. Asset is committed to ensuring there is an outstanding school at the heart of every community, and the LGB plays a key role in this by bringing valuable local knowledge and skills to the table. Our strategic responsibility is to support and challenge the Trust and School Leaders, ensuring the school is on track to become the best it can be.

While our governors have specific categories, we all work together as one body, and we do not represent any one group. The LGB meets formally twice a term, but governors are also encouraged to visit the school regularly to carry out their monitoring and supportive roles.

In most cases, if any issues arise at school, the first point of contact should be the Headteacher or the class teacher. However, if you would like to learn more about the role of the LGB or have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the email address below.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all the staff at Stutton. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated team, all of whom are committed to doing the very best for our children. Whatever challenges may lie ahead, I, along with the other governors, have full confidence in the team, and with your continued support, the school will continue to thrive.
