Sports Premium

The Sport Premium spend at Stutton CoE Primary School

The Primary PE and Sport Premium is government funding provided to schools to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer. The government has committed to this funding until 2022. The Department for Education’s vision for the Primary PE and Sport Premium is for:

“All pupils leaving primary school (to be) physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.”

At Stutton CoE we share this vision and strive to use the funding to create a long-lasting sporting legacy that will continue long after the Primary PE and Sport Premium. With this in mind, we aim to achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of our PE and sport provision. More information can be found on the DfE website here

This means that we aim to use the premium to:

  • Engaging all pupils in regular physical activity

  • Raising the profile of PE and sport across the school

  • Increasing confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in PE and sport teaching

  • Broadening the experience of pupils by offering a wide range of sporting opportunities

  • Increasing participation in competitive sport
